The core management brings extensive experience in acquisitions/dispositions, development, leasing, and managing real estate assets. Under the leadership of CEO Robert Ansin, the management team implements the firm’s strategy and actively manages the assets in MassInnovation’s investment portfolio.

 

Robert D. Ansin
Chief Executive Officer

Robert Ansin founded MassInnovation in 1997 in order to pioneer a new concept in mixed-use, residential and lifestyle centers that embody sustainable development principles.

Ansin has served on a number of corporate, charitable, cultural and economic development boards. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council, commissioner of the Essex National Heritage Commission, and on the board
of the Lawrence Boys & Girls Club.

Ansin holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

 

Shaw Rosen
Chief Operating Officer

Shaw has extensive background in radio and broadcast promotion including Boston’s WROR and Channel 7. She formerly served as the Director of Marketing & Communications for both MassInnovation and its projects. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of the Merrimack Valley Workforce Investment Board, where she focused on public-private partnerships that could be catalytic for emerging neighborhoods.

She is a member of the Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council and chairs the Hill View Montessori Charter School Board of Trustees.

She holds a B.A. from Curry College.


 

Nathaniel Dean
Associate

Nathaniel Dean has a background in retail market development with companies such as Dolce & Gabbana and Saks Fifth Avenue, which he uses to incorporate branding strategy from the development process through to the final use and enjoyment for customers and users of MassInnovation projects.

Nathaniel helped develop Monarch’s successful in-house sales and marketing program and instituted its unique affiliate program of partnerships with local companies. Nathaniel currently manages a number of projects for the company’s ongoing developments, sales and commercial leasing across the company portfolio, and oversight of the lease-up effort at Anwelt Heritage Apartments in Fitchburg.

Nathaniel studied for his BA at the College of Wooster and his MA at Boston University and is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the state of Massachusetts.

Jade Sylvan
Special Projects

All-around geek, Jade Sylvan, comes to MassInnovation with a background in sustainable design, natural building, and deep ecology. Certified in the art of permaculture and deft in obsessive research, she brings her cohesive knowledge to special projects.

Jade received her BA at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where she volunteered and worked for several nonprofits. She is excited to continue to do meaningful work with the team at MassInnovation.

Irvin Ospina
Intern

Irvin Ospina is currently a Junior at Notre Dame High School Lawrence, MA. He is very interested in helping protect the environment in any way possible. Irvin enjoys playing soccer and drawing in his spare time.

Irvin plans to attend college and wants to major in mechanical engineering, and continue his creative pursuits with a minor in creative writing. His choices for college are The University of Massachusetts Amherst or Boston College.
